An eucalyptus is not a pine tree
Due to the progressing interest in fast growing
tree species, the eucalyptus, originally from
Australia, is widespreading across the Portugal,
replacing the pine tree as the most common species.
As if you could make a species autochton,
the eucalyptus forests are overcoming the native ones.
These vases pay an homage to the pine trees, using
their "fruit", the cones, as a decorative element on
a lathed eucalyptus trunk.
