Twisted Center Piece - Edition of 3
During a weekend glass workshop at Cencal - Marinha Grande I initiated the process of developing a series of pieces with a twisted glass shape. Their various iterations, while collaborating with different glass blower, evolved into a limited series of 3 pieces and a lot of experiments, exploring colour and its movement around the turmoil.

An eucalyptus is not a pine tree
Due to the progressing interest in fast growing
tree species, the eucalyptus, originally from
Australia, is widespreading across the Portugal,
replacing the pine tree as the most common species.
As if you could make a species autochton,
the eucalyptus forests are overcoming the native ones.
These vases pay an homage to the pine trees, using
their "fruit", the cones, as a decorative element on
a lathed eucalyptus trunk.

Chouriceira is a BBQ for chouriços which takes the traditional pottery motives from Caldas da Rainha to a new use/meaning.

Spore is a fungi vase.
Although present in every environment,
due to their repulsive nature, in our
sterilized world the fungi are never really seen.
This vase creates an innocuous vessel
so that these organisms flourish.
The cultivating media is injected through
a hole on the top with a needle.
The spores which exist in the surrounding
air are the seeds.

Social Urban Object. “Jungalhar” is a one week residency project for a co-creation project with Miguel Rondon in the offspring of the river Lis, in Fontes, Leiria. Inspired by the local’s remniscience of the place, we created a place for dialogue and contemplation, of the surrounding natural enviroment and of the music, composed in the residency by Surma and João Hasselberg.
